Mannaheim (VA) in Alexandria
History
Mannaheim MidAtlantic grew out of Mannaheim VA Kindred. We began with SpiritVoices Environmental Events and then added some Family Events that became affectionately known as “Kinder Moots” that were created specifically to accommodate families with young children.
Initially we met at each other's homes or in nearby parks in the Greater Washington DC metropolitan area. We discussed what we liked about the pre-established area Kindreds and what we thought could be done to make our group more family friendly. Out of that concept, Mannaheim was born.
Within the last few years we've added a number of families with school-aged children. We usually get together for monthly Pot Luck Dinners and this gives our families a chance to meet other families with kids, t’weens and teens and arrange for a picnic lunch or supper and modest quantities of ale or mead for the drinking horn.

We have an Urban Hof!!!
The Hof is located off of the West Braddock Road Street exit of the Maryland/Northern Virginia Beltway (I-495) in Springfield, VA. We offer a private place for Heathen worship in an urban setting, and, secured storage for ritual items upon request.
There is comfortable furniture and adequate seating for 16 adults for drumming, study and meeting purposes. The space is easily capable of handling up to 40 people for Blots and other Heathen-friendly events. There are also tables, chairs, a microwave, deep sink, separate rest rooms, and, combination refrigerator/freezer, dishes and silverware for feasts. During warm weather we have a gas grill where we cook sausages, burgers, ribs, and other yummy items for the Pot Luck dinners.
Kinder Room
We recently redecorated the Kinder-Room. We've added the following items:
- Child-friendly table and chairs

- A toy box (we're taking donations for basic toys in good condition (blocks, plastic dishes, action figures, etc.).
